How to close your account

We’re sorry to see you go, but we want to make closing your account as easy as possible. Follow these simple steps, and we’ll help you every step of the way!

Options to close your account

You have two easy options:

1. Email

• Request a closure form by emailing info@serveandprotectcu.co.uk
• Include your full name and member number so we can verify your account
• We’ll send you a closure form for you to return

1. Phone

• Call our friendly team on 0121 700 1222
• Have your member number ready if you can - it helps us find your account faster
• Answer a few quick security questions, and we’ll handle the rest
• We'll ask you why you're closing your account – it helps us understand!
• Then we'll quickly go over a few simple rules that you'll just need to agree to

What happens next?

After we confirm your identity:

• If you have a loan, it needs to be paid off first. Don’t worry, we’ll tell you how much and guide you through it.
• We’ll check if you have money left in your account and transfer it to your bank.
• We'll change your regular payments (like direct debits from your bank or money from your pay) to £0. We’ll also tell you if there’s one last payment coming in or if everything has stopped.
• If you have a loan, it needs to be paid off first. Don’t worry, we’ll tell you how much and guide you through it.
• Once everything is sorted, we’ll let you know your account is closed.
